This process is important for BackerClub members.
Your Kickstarter profile URL is the link between your BackerClub and Kickstarter accounts. We must have your up-to-date and accurate profile URL for you to be eligible for certain BackerClub perks.
If you have completed this process before but have changed your Kickstarter profile URL since then (perhaps to a vanity URL or a change of the vanity), you must update your BackerClub settings with the new URL.
To save your Kickstarter profile URL in BackerClub:
Quick note: you will not be able to do this process through the mobile app on iOS or Android. You need to use a computer/laptop/tablet with an internet browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
On Kickstarter:
Login to your Kickstarter account.
Click on your account icon in the top right corner of Kickstarter, and then click "Profile" on the left side of the menu.
You will then be shown your profile page.
The next step is to click on the URL in your browser, select the entire URL so that it's highlighted, and then copy it to your computer's clipboard.
Tip: to copy the url, you can right-click with your mouse after the URL is highlighted and select "Copy", or press Ctrl + C on Windows / Cmd + C on Mac.
A few notes:
There are 2 types of Kickstarter profile URLs: a "regular" URL and a "vanity" URL. Either flavor will work just fine for BackerClub.
A regular URL is the default by Kickstarter and looks something like this: kickstarter.com/profile/1248912334. The number portion will be unique to your Kickstarter account.
A vanity URL is a custom option you can set in your Kickstarter settings. You do not have to do this, it's purely optional. Vanity URLs let you specify the portion after /profile/. In our example, you can see BackerClub has a vanity URL of kickstarter.com/profile/backerclub-official.
Reminder: if you're Kickstarter profile URL changes for any reason, you must update your BackerClub settings with the updated URL to continue to receive BackerClub perks.
Now onto BackerClub:
Click here to go to your BackerClub settings.
Next, select the "Platform Profiles" tab.
Finally, insert your info into the Kickstarter section and click "Save".
Tip: to paste, you can right-click with your mouse and select "Paste", or press Ctrl + V on Windows / Cmd + V on Mac.
That's it! You're all done!
